Dumplings are a convenient and tasty way to enjoy a variety of different flavors. They can be boiled, steamed, or fried, and the dough can be made from wheat flour, rice flour, cornstarch, or even potato starch. The most popular dumpling fillings are pork, chicken, beef, and vegetables, but there are also many sweet varieties such as cherry dumplings and apple dumplings.
One of our favorite ways to enjoy dumplings is with a savory filling of pork. So today we are going to show you one of our favorite dumpling recipes that includes spicy pork! This is a quick and easy meal that my whole family will love!
Enjoy!
Pan Fried Spicy Dumplings Recipe
Ingredients:
1 lb ground pork
1 cup cabbage
1 small bag of Julienned carrots
1 Tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp fish sauce (optional)
1 teaspoon grated ginger
2 chopped green onions
1 egg
1 package round dumpling wrappers
Vegetable oil
Mikey V's Zing or Sweet Ghost Pepper Sauce for dipping

Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare Your Wrappers:
Remove dumpling wraps from the refrigerator. Let stand at room temperature to soften while proceeding to the next step.
Step 2: Cook The Filling
Add oil to the pan and turn to medium-high. Add pork to the pan. Cook ground pork until brown. Add cabbage, julienned carrots, soy sauce, Brok Da Mouth Seasoning, and green onions. Sauté for 3-5 minutes. Let the mixture cool in a large mixing bowl.
Tip: Cool filling completely before stuffing the wrappers to avoid making them too sticky or difficult to seal.
Step 3: Start Wrapping Dumplings
Set up a small assembly line! Whisk one egg in a bowl for your egg wash. Place a dumpling wrapper flat on a clean surface. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of filling into the center of the wrapper. Dip your finger into the egg wash and trace it along the edge of the wrapper to help perfect the seal. Fold the wrapper in half, pinching the edges together to form a half-moon shape. Continue until all wrappers are filled.
Pro Tip: Cover the assembled dumplings with a damp paper towel to keep them from drying out.
Step 4: Pan Fry Your Dumplings
Heat vegetable oil in a nonstick pan over medium heat. Once ready, arrange the dumplings in a single layer in the pan. Fry for about 5 minutes until golden brown on the bottom. Add 2 to 3 tablespoons of water to the pan, then cover with a lid to steam the dumplings for another 5 minutes.
Important: Avoid overcrowding the pan—work in batches if needed.
Step 5: Serve Hot & Fresh!
Remove the cooked dumplings from the pan and place them on a serving plate. Pair with dipping sauces like Zing Sauce or Sweet Ghost Pepper Sauce. Sprinkle sesame seeds or chopped green onions on top for added flair.
Serving Suggestion: Serve with a crisp green salad or steamed bok choy for a complete meal!

Tips & Tricks
Leftovers: Store any leftover dumplings in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, pan-fry them again until warmed through for the best texture.
Freezer-Friendly: Assemble the dumplings, then place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper in the freezer. Once frozen, transfer them to a zip-top bag. Cook straight from frozen by extending the steam time by 2–3 minutes.
Vegetarian Option: Swap out the pork for finely diced mushrooms, extra cabbage, and tofu for a plant-based version.
Gluten-Free Adaptation: Look for gluten-free dumpling wrappers and use tamari instead of soy sauce.
